Blessing and Naming Baby Amelia

Posted on: December 14th, 2021 by Susanna

This is the third baby blessing and naming I have done for this wonderful
inspiring interfaith family.  I also had the honor of performing of her parents’ wedding some years ago. Grandparents, Grandma, Uncles all participated and were honored. Amelia received her Hebrew name. We prayed for her future. We laced the ceremony with her parents wishes, hopes and prayers for her. For one particular blessing I asked Amelia’s siblings to help me bless her. Adorable! This beautiful family is a blessing in my life.  I love them!Flicker Children

Review for my Baby Blessing Master Class / Intensive for AFSI

Posted on: December 22nd, 2020 by Susanna

Baby BlessingsA lovely review of my Baby Blessing Intensive from Rev. Mary Scott soo, M.D.    Thank you, Mary Scott!

“Reverend Susanna’s baby blessing workshop was another great success! This zoom class was inspiring and informative, dynamic and heartwarming. Reverend Susanna is a delightful teacher who draws from her wealth of experience in performing baby blessings to lead her students through the elements of creating and performing a variety of ceremonies. She taught methods of navigating the challenges that develop in interfaith settings, and guided us to create our own ceremonies, giving constructive critiques which were immensely helpful. Susanna’s positive energy and personalized approach made this class a complete joy!”

Children Blessing the Water for the Baby of Honor

Children blessing the waters

I absolutely love this moment!  Besides myself, the parents and godparents infusing the water with our prayers and blessings for our baby of honor, we asked all the children to do so as well.   I gently directed them to close their eyes and go to their hearts and fill themselves with their prayers and good wishes for baby Nathan.  After a moment of silent prayer, I asked them, What do you pray for him as he grows up?  The answers were adorable–from his being cute, strong, smart, fast.   I then asked,  Do we want him to have love?  They all shook their heads YES.   Do we want him to have joy?  They all shook their head YES.   The family sent me this photo saying how much everyone appreciated this—including the grandparents and great grandma of this beautiful Christian/Jewish family.

From a Father of Four Interfaith Children

Posted on: January 8th, 2020 by Susanna

Hi Everyone,

I thought I would post this review found on DaoCloud, a wellness site, from a father of four beautiful interfaith children, Craig Schatzman    I am deeply touched.

“Rev. Macomb is amazing. She specializes in interfaith weddings and created an amazing ceremony for us. She does this by creating a ceremony that takes elements of the our respective religious and cultural traditions, but more by really taking the time to get to know us and incorporated unique elements of our personalities. Our guests had a great time, and we got so many comments on how beautiful and moving our ceremony was. Rev. Macomb also officiated baby blessings for our four children and each one was special, unique and extremely beautiful. We are blessed to have met Rev. Macomb, but we are more blessed to still keep in touch with her.”

Family Bonding Ceremony

4 years ago I had the honor of presiding over these twin angels’ Catholic/Jewish interfaith baby blessing ceremony.   On this day, I was overjoyed to create a very special interactive collaborative “family bonding” ceremony for this beautiful family!
